This weekend, the Western Political Science Association (WPSA) held its annual meeting at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco. A panel held yesterday (Saturday, April 3) featured two Kleroterians, Joel Parker and myself. No pics got taken but trust us–it happened.
I plugged the blog at the meeting. If you’re reading this blog for the first time as a result, welcome. And don’t forget–we have a Facebook page as well :)

Any interesting going-ons at the panel or in the meeting in the general?

Well, the WPSA has a very eclectic mix of theory. The analytic approach I favor is usually a minority. But I did enjoy the panels on which I participated. And the audience, I must say, was generally sympathetic to the case for lotteries, although Joel’s argument (which concerned the assignment of political office) was very different from mine (which concerned the allocation of scarce goods).

I’m reading this blog as a result of Stone’s plug at the meeting. As one of those crazy radical democracy types (the kind who privileges contestation over efficiency), I worry about the coming kleroteriocracy, so I’ve got my eye on you guys…
