The German SPD party announced that an allotted body advising party leadership has met for the first time. The body has 20 people, randomly drawn for one year of service among party members. The newspaper Die Welt has interviews with four of the members.

I was not able to find any information about this application in English. It would be great if German speaking readers could share some additional information about this body: procedures, powers, compensation, etc.

The particle article does not have any info about this body, beyond saying that they are to be given “room for free thought” to help come up with an electoral program for the party. It is supposed to be a “members’ advisory board,” but that does not tell us much regarding any real power it might have. I have not found any other concrete info, but have only given it some search engine and online newspaper searche time so far.
